The Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge is a multiple choice style assessment. It consists of two (2) books, each with 150 multiple-choice type questions. Each book is given in a three (3) hour session. The sessions are held in the morning and afternoon of one day.
Participants whose score on the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge is a test equated 75 or higher may register for the Assessment of Clinical Skills and the Assessment of Clinical Judgement.*
A participant has the privilege of taking the Assessment of Fundamental Knowledge twice.
* In order to assure the consistency of scores on all the versions of the Assessments, the NDEB uses a test equating procedure. This procedure correlates a standardized reference examination with the current version of the examination and determines the standardized mark.
